How We Review
This page explains how we create the reviews, comparisons and buying guides on RQ - AI Tools & Software Reviews.
Research, not lab testing
We currently don’t run hands-on lab testing of every product we cover. Our guides are research-based: we compile and compare publicly available information, including:
- official specifications, documentation and pricing pages;
- release notes and product announcements;
- patterns across independent expert reviews and owner/user feedback.
What we look at
- Output quality and reliability for the task at hand
- Features, model access and usage limits
- Pricing and free tiers
- Privacy, data handling and terms of use
- Ease of use, integrations and API availability
Keeping guides up to date
Products change quickly. We revisit our guides periodically and update them when features, pricing or recommendations change. The “Updated” date at the top of each article shows when it was last revised.
Independence
Rankings are never sold. Affiliate commissions, where they exist, do not influence which products we recommend or in what order. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
